It is ideal for interval rental, law office, or other business uses. In its first year as an Air BnB rental, from mid-May through mid-October, there were only 3 weekends not rented. Built in 1913 by the richest man in town (for his daughter) the house features high ceilings, plastered walls, a grand entry door with beveled leaded glass transom and side-lights, plus large (42” x 6’) original windows in every room (many on the 1st floor feature leaded-glass upper panes), and a great west-facing wrap-around porch, which I fell in love with the first time I saw it. A prior owner installed hardware for a delightful swing set, too. All of the house’s original features, like the claw-foot tub in the upstairs bath, and the rear staircase, though not used now, were left intact in case someone wants it to be truly authentic. In the summer, a shaft of morning sunlight shines down that staircase making that corner of the kitchen a delight to enjoy. There are enclosed porches on both levels at the rear. A new half-bath plus new shower bath w sink was added to 1st floor. Original hardwood floors throughout. Off-street parking for 2 cars in the rear is a blessing. This house has a full basement below, with “poured concrete walls” (unheard of in those days), and has stood the test of time. The basement is separated into three rooms and has been dry and free of any cracks or deterioration in the perimeter walls. It also has a floor drain connected to the sewer located near the rear access door with water and electricity for the washer, dryer, and various power tools. At the rear of the house, there have been added GFI-protected electric outlets and water spigots as well as a 220-volt rapid charger for electric vehicles
